Peace of Mind Group Home

Contact Information:
In a nurturing, home-like environment, Peace of Mind Group Home provides trauma-informed care and wraparound support services tailored to meet the individual needs of each youth we serve. Our philosophy is grounded in the principles of nurturing care (DCF 57.205), creating a safe, stable, and supportive setting where young people can heal, grow, and thrive.
Peace of Mind Group Home takes a holistic approach to supporting youth who have experienced trauma, focusing on the whole person—their physical, emotional, social, educational, and spiritual well-being. Our comprehensive care model includes:
- Basic and Physical Needs: Youth are provided nutritious, home-cooked family-style meals, comfortable living spaces, and consistent daily routines that promote safety, stability, and self-care.
- Emotional and Behavioral Support: Staff are trained in trauma-informed care, conflict de-escalation, and positive behavior support. Individualized behavior and safety plans are developed to encourage self-regulation, accountability, and emotional growth.
- Academic and Vocational Support: Each youth receives tutoring, homework assistance, and collaboration with local schools to ensure educational success. Youth also participate in employment readiness training and life skills classes that build independence and prepare them for adulthood.
- Substance Abuse and Wellness Services: Through AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse) support groups and access to community-based counseling, residents receive education, prevention, and intervention services to promote healthy lifestyles and long-term wellness.
- Character and Leadership Development: Youth participate in structured character-building activities, mentoring, and community service that foster empathy, responsibility, and positive decision-making.
- Family and Community Engagement: Family participation is encouraged through scheduled visits and community outings designed to strengthen family connections and support reunification when appropriate.
Our home is licensed for eight (8) male residents between the ages of 13 and 17 under Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF 57) regulations. The residence is located on the far North side of Racine, Wisconsin, offering a quiet and family-oriented neighborhood environment that supports reflection, stability, and community integration.
Referrals to Peace of Mind Group Home are accepted only through Wisconsin counties, and placements are coordinated by county social workers or Human Services Departments. We work collaboratively with these agencies, as well as schools, behavioral health providers, and families, to ensure that each youth’s treatment plan is individualized, strength-based, and outcome-driven.
At Peace of Mind Group Home, our mission is to provide youth with peace, purpose, and the tools they need to build meaningful, productive lives.
